The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists recently announced Lydia Middleton, MBA, CAE, has left the organization. She held the position of executive director for the academy since August 2015.

“We want to thank Lydia for her service and wish her well in her future endeavors,” M. Jason Highsmith, PT, DPT, PhD, CP, FAAOP, the board president of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP), said in a press release from the group. “We look forward to continuing the academy’s long tradition of excellent leadership. The academy is a strong and vibrant organization, and as O&P professionals, we know well the valuable contribution it makes to our work and the patients we serve.”
According to the release, AAOP has formed a transition team to guide the search for a new executive director. Chellie Blondes, deputy executive director, will serve as interim executive director while a replacement is sought.
