The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education has announced Megan C. Tang, MS, as this year’s recipient of the Larry Lange Travel Fellowship Award.

The National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) established the award fund in 2007 in honor and memory of Larry Lange, CPO, FAAOP, to provide individuals beginning their O&P careers with an opportunity to further enrich their education and professional development in a particular aspect of O&P care, according to a press release. The $2,000 award is to be used for travel and meeting registration fees for professional O&P conferences and / or activities.
Tang completed her orthotics residency at University of Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Center in Ann Arbor, Mich., and will soon start her prosthetics residency at South Georgia Orthopedic Resources in Hiram, Ga. During her orthotics residency, Tang participated in a multi-disciplinary research project titled, “High Prevalence of Cranial Asymmetry Exists in Infants with Neonatal Brachial Plexus Palsy (NBPP).” Tang will present her research at the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2015 Annual Assembly and Technical Exhibition in Boston. She also will give a lecture as a contender for the 2015 Thranhardt Award at the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association 2015 National Assembly in San Antonio, according to the release.
