NJAAOP Annual Meeting Addresses Rapidly Changing O&P Field

From health care regulations to niche specialties to new technologies, speakers at the Annual Meeting of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (NJAAOP) covered a number of topics, all revolving around the rapid changes occurring in the O&P field. The meeting, held Nov. 5-7 in Atlantic City, N.J. offered workshops, scientific sessions and clinical sessions, as well as a chance to network with exhibitors and discover new products. Some topics of note included geriatric mobility and management, the future of 3-D printing in O&P and regulation/reimbursement issues. Judith Levin, a Univeristy of Hartford student obtaining a master’s degree in prosthetics and orthotics, was honored as winner of the Robert Frank Scholarship, which will contribute $1,000 toward her education. Levin will graduate in May 2015.
