ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — At the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists Annual Meeting, Nicholas Cirillo, spoke about a Hartford Hand project that looked at potential failures of force myography (FMG)- and electromyography (EMG)-controlled devices. The research team created its own custom software device to test three static positions under load.
He said their hypothesis is there may be some failure under load and that possible solutions include recalibration of FMG or EMG sensors.
