The Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center has hired Kristin Carnahan, CPO, FAAOP, as an instructor at its department of physical medicine and rehabilitation, according to a press release.
Carnahan will teach students to evaluate, fit and fabricate O&P devices.
“We believe that Kristin Carnahan will contribute significantly to the clinical training and education program at Northwestern University,” John W. Michael, MEd, CPO/L, director of the Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center, said in the release.
According to the release, Carnahan has nearly a decade of experience as an O&P clinician in private practice. She earned a master of prosthetics and orthotics degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition, she completed an orthotics residency at University of Michigan Orthotic and Prosthetic Center, and a prosthetics residency at ProCare Prosthetics and Orthotics in Buford, Georgia.
Carnahan continued as a staff CPO at ProCare until 2017, serving in positions that included technical team manager and startup leader for one of the firm’s satellite offices. She has teaching experience in Georgia programs for PT, PTA and MSPO, according to the release.
