Paralyzed Veterans of America is offering financial assistance funds of up to $1,500 to members for losses, including prosthetics, after a natural disaster, according to a press release.
The program is available to Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) members who have experienced demonstrable losses after a natural disaster, such as Hurricane Harvey, which continues to cause massive damage and flooding after it made landfall on the Gulf Coast of Texas last weekend.
The nonprofit said it will make funds available for transportation, temporary shelter, modifications for accessibility, prosthetic devices and medical supplies. PVA said it will grant a maximum of $1,500 to members who apply. However, additional funding may be available in “extreme circumstances,” pending a review on a case-by-case basis, the release noted.
Applications are available at local PVA chapters.
