Members of Team Össur and the Össur ambassadors won 15 medals at the World Para Athletics Championships in London.
Three team Össur members were multiple medalists, according to a company press release. They included Richard Whitehead of Great Britain, who won gold in the men’s 200m and men’s long jump in the T42 category and bronze in the men’s T42 100 m; Markus Rehm of Germany, who won gold in the men’s T44 long jump and as part of the men’s 4×100 relay T42-47 team; and Daniel Wagner Jorgensen of Denmark, who won gold in the men’s T42 long jump and silver in the men’s T42 100m.
Arnu Fourie of South Africa won bronze in the in the men’s T44 100m, in which seven of the eight competitors wore Össur’s Cheetah Xtreme prosthesis, according to the release.
Among the other medalists were Stef Reid of Great Britain, who won gold in the women’s T44 long jump; and Federica Maspero of Italy, winner of Össur’s first #MyWinningMoment contest, who won silver in the women’s T44 400m.
“We are extremely proud of all of our athletes, whose dedication and accomplishments continually redefine what it means to enjoy life without limitations,” Jon Sigurdsson, Össur’s president and chief executive officer, said in the release.
