The Commonwealth Institute of South Florida has named Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, president and chief executive officer of the Board of Certification/Accreditation, as one of the top 50 women-led business leaders, according to a press release.
The institute recognized Zacharias during its 12th annual Top Women-Led Businesses Luncheon. The non-profit partnered with Kaufman Rossin, one of the largest public accounting and advisory firms in the United States, to develop the list from a selection of more than 10,000 women-led businesses.
“I am honored to have been recognized among this group of amazing businesswomen who are at the top of their respective fields,” Zacharias said in the release. “My own passion and commitment is fueled by the dedication of [Board of Certification/Accreditation] BOC’s staff and board of directors, and I am fortunate to lead an organization of experienced team members who work to fulfill our mission every day.”
During Zacharias’ nearly 8-year tenure at BOC, the organization has seen revenue increases of 50% due to the addition of two new credentialing programs, the release noted.
“Under her leadership, BOC is the only one of eight CMS-deemed accrediting organizations to achieve net growth in the number of facilities accredited in recent years,” according to the release. “Zacharias’ launch of a full-time business development team, combined with a focus on technology and partnership-building, also contributed to the fiscal results for the company that helped secure Zacharias a place on the top 50 list.”
Zacharias has also led efforts to improve customer service at BOC, and garnered the organization seven Stevie Awards for business development, customer service and innovation.
