The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics is seeking nominees for a director and public member director on its board of directors, according to a press release. Each position will require a 4-year commitment beginning on Dec. 1.
The selected candidates will be voting-eligible members and will help oversee management of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC)’s affairs, including policy development, governance and budgetary matters.
According to the release, nominees for public member director will represent the interests of consumers, O&P patients and other public groups. All nominees must be ABC-certified and have a record of volunteer involvement with the ABC board. The ABC nominations committee and board of directors will review all nominations.
According to the release, the selection process will follow certification-board protocol and be compliant with the standards of the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. The deadline for nomination submissions is June 1.
