In recognition of Limb Loss Awareness Month, the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation will host two events in April.
According to a press release, the first event will be hosted in collaboration with Kinetic Prosthetics and is scheduled for April 26 at the West Chester Golf and Country Club. The event will give participants the opportunity to learn about the services and activities available to amputees. Reggie Showers, a bilateral below-the-knee amputee and contestant on National Geographic’s Mygration, will be the special guest speaker, according to the release. The Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation will also hold a First Dance clinic in collaboration with Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics. The event is scheduled for April 30, at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in York, Pa. and will feature instructor Brittany Miller, a physical therapy student and ballroom dance teacher.
