CHICAGO — The O&P profession is at a tipping point, Tom DiBello, CO, FAAOP, director of clinical and scientific affairs for Hanger Clinic, said at the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium.
He said the way O&P care is delivered will change, and that it is up to O&P professionals to make sure they are part of the delivery system in the future.
“As we see sophisticated orthotic devices, like exoskeletal devices and osseointegration, it is up to us that we demonstrate our value, and demonstrate how important it is to include us in that delivery system.”
