The American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association has announced two new partners for its 2017 World Congress, according to a press release. The partners are the Orthotics and Prosthetics Association of India and the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association.
“[The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association] CMTA recognizes that the use of orthoses improves quality of life for people living with [Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease] CMT, so it was a natural partnership,” Michael Oros, CPO, LPO, FAAOP, president of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA), said in the release. “[The Orthotics and Prosthetics Association of India] OPAI serves a growing population of orthotic and prosthetic users in an important market. We look forward to collaborating with OPAI at the World Congress.”
Other partners to participate in the 2017 World Congress include the Amputee Coalition, ConFairMed, Mexico-National Member Society of ISPO, Orthotics Prosthetics Canada, U.S. Member Society of ISPO and Uniting Frontiers.
The World Congress is scheduled for Sept. 6 through 9 in Las Vegas, according to the release. The event will be held in place of the AOPA National Assembly and in junction with AOPA’s centennial celebration, the release noted.
