OPAF Hosts First Amputee Tennis Tournament in US

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation held the first amputee tennis tournament in the United States as a part of its First Clinics initiative.

Held in conjunction with USTA Middle States, the First Clinics offered adaptive sports lessons and drills for individuals with mobility challenges. The First Volley tennis tournament was held in Cherry Hill, N.J., and was led by staff at the Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club. Admission was free for participants and families.

According to Robin Burton, Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF) executive director, the foundation will host similar events and add new clinics in the near future. – by Shawn M. Carter
