Dralla Foundation recently announced its 2016 grant recipients. This year’s grants were awarded to Adaptive Sports Foundation, Catalyst Sports, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, Kinetic Kids, STRIDE Adaptive Sports and World T.E.A.M. Sports.
According to a press release, the Dralla Foundation has awarded nearly $200,000 in grants throughout the past 5 years. The foundation was founded by Peter Allard, president of Allard USA.
The grants will fund events for children and teens with physical challenges through March 2017. Events will include bike camps that will teach participants to ride traditional bicycles; a day of adaptive athletics in which participants can try kayaking, cycling and climbing; an outdoor adventure that pairs participants with able-bodied teammates/coaches as they participate in hiking, mountain biking and water sports; a ski and snowboard race that pairs participants with able-bodied athletes; and an event that includes a treasure hunt, aquarium visit and beach party.
The next grant cycle begins in December when Dralla Foundation will begin accepting grant applications. The submission deadline will be Feb. 1, 2017. The awards will be announced in May.
