The Board of Certification/Accreditation recently announced it has been recognized for the licensure of orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic practitioners in Arkansas.
The decision was made in January by the Arkansas Department of Health following a recommendation from the Arkansas Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics Advisory Board, according to a press release from the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC).
“The BOC credential behind someone’s name means they have gone through rigorous training and testing to prove their competency to provide quality care. We are pleased to see Arkansas recognize that BOC’s certification examinations meet or exceed their standards,” Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, president and chief executive officer of BOC, said in the release.
She added the increased number of licensure states accepting BOC accreditation “will help reduce some of the unintended consequences of licensure, and allow well-established [orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic] OPP professionals to relocate and continue practicing in these licensure states.”
