Ottobock recently announced it has formed a new U.S. Orthotics Business Unit.
Effective Jan. 1, 2016, the unit is supported by the North American Orthotics Sales Organization. According to a press release, the unit focuses solely on the sales of orthotic products, including orthoses, components and off-the-shelf braces.
Ottobock’s representatives in its Activity and Sports Medicine Business Unit are now sales representatives for the Orthotics Business Unit. In addition, Ottobock’s Technical Orthopedics Business Unit has been renamed the Prosthetics Business Unit, effective Jan. 1. The Prosthetics Business Unit is supported by the North American Prosthetics Sales Organization. Ottobock customers will now have one dedicated sales representative for orthotic products and one for prosthetic products.
“As we continue to expand an increasingly complex portfolio, our goal is to provide our customers with a higher level of professional sales expertise,” Matt Swiggum, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Ottobock North America, said in the release. “By providing one sales representative for orthotics and one sales representative for prosthetics, we will be better able to support our customers in optimizing patient outcomes.”
