The Amputee Coalition recently announced its board of directors and officers for 2016. All officers will serve a term of 1 year.
Officers include: Jack Richmond, CPOA, chairman; Michael Estrada, chair elect; John “Mo” Kenney, CPO, LPO, FAAOP, vice chair; Dennis Fields, treasurer; David Sanders, JD, secretary; and Dan Berschinski, immediate past chair.
Additional board members include Brandon Dale, CPO; Leslie Pitt Schneider, JD, RN; Dennis Strickland, MBA; Ron Drach; and Terrence Sheehan, MD, the board’s medical director.
“As the Amputee Coalition enters its 30th year, I appreciate the vote of confidence I have been given and I am honored to serve as chairman of the board,” Richmond said in a press release. “As a board and as an organization, we are dedicated to serving the limb loss community and to ensuring that the Amputee Coalition is responsive to the needs of people affected by limb loss. We have made much progress in the first 29 years. We are looking forward to providing service, guidance and inspiration in the future.”
Richmond lives in Cleveland, Tenn. and is director of sales for Fillauer Inc. He began to support limb loss education after an accident in 1987 led to a below-knee amputation of one of his legs. He has been involved with the Amputee Coalition since 1992 and serves as chair of the Amputee Coalition’s Education and Conference Committee. He is past president of United Amputee Services, the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation and the Barr Foundation.
