College Park Industries Inc. recently announced its acquisition of Liberating Technologies, Inc. Both companies are based in Boston. According to a press release, the acquisition will allow College Park Industries to expand its manufacturing capabilities beyond lower limb prostheses into upper limb prostheses, orthoses and rehabilitation technology.
“This strategic merger was the next logical step in College Park’s continued growth,” William Carver, chief operating officer for College Park Industries, said in the release. “Beyond the complimentary product lines, the robust research department at [Liberating Technologies, Inc.] is an exciting area for our engineering team to join forces with. [Liberating Technologies, Inc.] was recently awarded six new government grants and has developed technology that has clear integration with future College Park products.”
William Hanson, who will remain at Liberating Technologies, Inc. as president, said, “College Park was the right choice for us. Their strength in manufacturing, sales and marketing as well as international distribution will take our current product line and new innovations to the next level.”
