ReWalk founder, president to retire

ReWalk Robotics, a wearable exoskeleton manufacturer, recently announced its founder, president and chief technology officer, Amit Goffer, PhD, will retire effective Nov. 18.

Goffer founded ReWalk in 2001, following an all-terrain vehicle accident that rendered him a quadriplegic. He served as chief executive officer from 2001 to 2012, and served on the board of directors since 2001, according to a press release.

“Amit’s vision and innovation in pioneering the ReWalk technology allowed the dream of walking again to become reality for individuals around the world with spinal cord injuries,” Larry Jasinski, ReWalk chief executive officer, said in the release. “We have learned from our ReWalkers that Dr. Goffer’s pioneering work fundamentally changed their health and life experience. We appreciate [his] many years of dedicated service and the solid foundation his vision and leadership has built for our employees, ReWalkers and shareholders.”

Goffer will not seek re-election to the board of directors when his term expires, according to the release.
