The Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation is accepting applications for the
Dale Yasukawa scholarship award and has set the deadline at May 15.
The $1,000 award is open to all full-time master’s degree program candidates enrolled in Northwestern University’s Prosthetic Orthotic Center and is meant to encourage student participation in local American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) meetings.
The purpose of the award is to cover meeting registration fees and assist in the purchasing of books, supplies and equipment needed for ongoing studies, according to a press release. The award is funded by the memorial fund for Dale Yasukawa, CP, who died in 2001. Yasukawa was director of prosthetics at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
