The Board of Certification/Accreditation announced it has been selected by the Agency for Health Care Administration for Florida to provide accreditation for home medical equipment suppliers there.
The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) is one of four CMS-deemed accrediting organizations to earn this designation.
“BOC is pleased to have the opportunity to provide DME suppliers in Florida with another option for achieving home medical equipment licensure,” Wendy Miller, BOCO, CDME, chief credentialing officer for BOC, stated in a press release. “Our DMEPOS facility accreditation was designed to confirm compliance by DME suppliers to high industry standards. This benefits both businesses and consumers in Florida.”
The Agency for Health Care Administration, the state’s chief health policy and planning entity, is responsible for the licensure of Florida’s 45,000 health care facilities as well as the management of the state’s estimated $22.9 billion Medicaid program and the sharing of health care data through the Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis.
