Prosthetic fashion company, UNYQ, and 3-D digital design and fabrication company, 3D Systems, announced they have partnered to bring 3-D printing technology to the O&P industry and to increase patient access to stylish, life-enhancing devices, according to a press release.
The partnership will combine UNYQ’s production and marketing expertise with 3D Systems’ portfolio of O&P devices and manufacturing capabilities. UNYQ will become a preferred partner for commercializing 3D systems’ personalized prosthetic offerings, braces and casts.
The company will integrate 3D Systems’ prosthetic offerings into its product line during the next few months, followed by the introduction of an orthotic product line later in the year, according to the release.
“We are thrilled to join forces with UNYQ,” Avi Reichental, 3D Systems president and CEO, said in the release. “Together, our two companies are making these life-changing medical solutions more advanced, more impactful and more accessible for everyone with prosthetic and orthotic needs.”
“3D Systems and UNYQ are perfect partners for scaling commercial application of 3-D printed prosthetic and orthotic solutions,” Eythor Bender, UNYQ CEO and cofounder, said in the release. “With their cutting-edge technology and ground-breaking work in this field and our market traction, we are well-equipped to bring our production closer to our customers around the world.”
