ReWalk Robotics has partnered with Saimed Innovation for the distribution of ReWalk exoskeleton systems in India.
Saimed Innovations and ReWalk have begun training and will continue with more extensive clinical and technical service training. The team members plan to work with users who are eligible in the rehabilitation stage in the second quarter of this year.
“Expansion in India has been both a goal and priority for ReWalk, as we assess the global need for exoskeletons,” Larry Jasinski, MBA, ReWalk CEO stated in a press release. “This landmark partnership with Saimed Innovations will provide first-time access to this technology for the spinal cord injured community across India. We believe there is potential to help a great number of people in this key geography.”
“This will be a miraculous technology for eligible users in India,” Rishi Kapoor, a partner at Saimed Innovations, stated in the release. “We look forward to beginning this partnership with ReWalk.”
This partnership further expands ReWalk’s international growth. Its exoskeletons also have received clearance in North America, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Australia. With the distribution of the exoskeleton systems underway in northern India, ReWalk plans to launch preliminary programs in all of India this spring.
