The Board of Certification/Accreditation announced it has earned reaccreditation from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies for another 5-year period for its pedorthist certification program.
The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) received National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation for its pedorthist certification program in 2008. It earned the renewal of the accreditation by submitting an application demonstrating compliance to the NCCA’s Standard for the Accreditation of Certification Programs. The NCCA reviewed the program’s policies and procedures, skills set, assessment methods and statistical procedures used for validating results.
“Just as BOC requires DMEPOS facilities to be evaluated for adherence to standards before earning BOC facility accreditation, our certification programs also are held to stringent compliance requirements,” Wendy Miller, BOCO, CDME, BOC’s chief credentialing officer, stated in a press release. “NCCA’s reaccreditation of our pedorthist program is a significant assurance of our certificants’ competency.”
Approximately 275 professionals are currently certified as BOC pedorthists.
