The Board of Certification/Accreditation has announced the 2015 executive committee for its board of directors.
The following executive committee members have been elected to another 1-year term in their respective roles with the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC): James L. Hewlett, BOCO, DMEPOS consultant for ConsultantsPRN, will continue to serve as chair; R. Jeffrey Hedges, CDME, President of R. J. Hedges and Associates, will continue as vice chair; James Newberry, Jr., BOCPO, BOCPD, LPO, owner/practitioner at Mahnke’s Orthotics-Prosthetics, will serve another year as treasurer; and John P. Kenney, MURP, BOCO, vice president of Ongoing Care Solutions, will serve again as immediate past chair.

Additionally the executive committee has welcomed L. Bradley Watson, BOCP, BOCO, LPO, as secretary and William J. Powers, MBA, LFACHE, as member-at-large, according to a press release.
“Our board continues to be comprised of highly engaged and experienced professionals who embody BOC’s values, which include integrity, continuous improvement, and teamwork,” Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, president of CEO of BOC, said in the release. “I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together in 2015.”
Watson is an owner/practitioner at Clarksville Limb & Brace and Rehab in Clarksville, Tenn., and is a second-generation orthotist and prosthetist with more than 20 years of experience. He joined the BOC board in 2012.
Powers joined the BOC Board in 2010 and served on the executive committee as secretary in 2014 and as treasurer in 2013 and 2012. He is a retired chief operating officer of the American Nurses Association and retired Air Force Medical Service Corp. officer. Additionally, Powers is a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Transitioning off of the executive committee is Mark L. Parris, PharmD, RPh, COF, who served two terms as member-at-large and will remain on the BOC board as a director. Parris owns and practices at Parris Medical Services in Blue Ridge, Ga., and is a member of the Georgia Pharmacy Association, serving on the Committee of Governmental Affairs, according to the release.
