CMS has released an update for its 2015 Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies fee schedule.
The update is effective as of Jan. 1, 2015 and will be implemented on Jan. 5, 2015. The update includes a fee schedule update factor of 1.5%, a net increase based on a 2.1% increase in the consumer price index for all urban consumers adjusted for the 6% change in economy-wide productivity.
The labor payment rates L7520 will increase by 2.1% in accordance with the consumer price index increase for claims submitted using the following codes:
- K0739 – repair or non-routine service for durable medical equipment other than oxygen equipment requiring the skill of a technician, labor component, per 15 minutes;
- L4205 – repair of orthotic device, labor component, per 15 minutes; and
- L7520 – repair prosthetic device, labor component, per 15 minutes.
CMS also is adjusting the fee schedule amounts for shoe modification codes A5502 through A5507. Base fees for shoe codes A5503 through A5507 will be weighted based on the approximate total allowed services for each code for items provided during calendar year 2013.
