The Board of Certification/Accreditation and Applied Measurement Professionals Inc. convened a group of subject matter experts to collaborate on the BOC Pedorthist Job Task Analysis.
According to a press release, the Job Task Analysis team was comprised of BOC-certified practitioners, educators, BOC-accredited facility representatives and other medical professionals, and was facilitated by Applied Measurement Professionals. During the meeting, the Job Task Analysis group created a survey that will be sent to up to 5,000 pedorthists and other health care professionals this month. The results will be compiled and used to update the exam’s detailed content outline to ensure it reflects the current practice in pedorthics and make any needed changes to the exam.
“It was a productive meeting, and I am pleased with the results of our collective efforts,” Wendy Miller, BOCO, CDME, chief credentialing officer of BOC, stated in the release. “We sequenced the pedorthist task list from prescription to final fitting and evaluated each task to ensure our pedorthist certification candidates continue to be assessed on appropriate competencies.”
