Ottobock and Orthocare Innovations have entered into a partnership to bring advanced, novel technologies to the global prosthetics market.
According to a press release, the partnership is project-focused and will focus on the accelerated delivery of new products. Efforts also will include comprehensive laboratory and patient testing.
“We are excited to move our developments into the market and see the real-life benefits they will provide,” Doug McCormack, chairman and co-founder of Orthocare Innovations, stated in the release. “By working with Ottobock, we tap into its established, industry leading capabilities in supporting and distributing microprocessor-controlled devices.”
Hans Dietl, MD, Ottobock chief technology officer, stated, “Both [companies] have firm commitments to delivering measurable outcomes. Pushing the boundaries of what people can accomplish is inspiring, and we are continuing our collaboration with future projects that expand human capabilities.”
