The Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation recently hosted five wheelchair tennis clinics in North Carolina and South Carolina during a 5-day period.
Made possible through grant funding from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Wheelchair Tennis and OPAF’s partnerships with USTA North Carolina, USTA South Carolina and Bridge II Sports, a local adaptive sports organization in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C. area, clinics were held in Rock Hill, S.C. and Greenville, S.C., as well as Cary, N.C., Fayetteville, N.C., and Greensboro N.C. Clinics were led by Karin Korb, a Paralympic player and coach, who recently returned from the Netherlands where she served as head coach for the United States Teen Wheelchair Team in an International Tennis Federation championship. More than 50 participants and more than 100 volunteers were part of the week of wheelchair and adaptive tennis instruction.
