UNYQ, an interactive 3-D printing studio that allows amputees to design customizable protective prosthetic covers, recently closed seed round funding at more than $1 million.
“The seed funding will enable us to invest in state-of-the-art 3-D printers and related technologies,” Eythor Bender, UNYQ co-founder and chief operating officer, stated in a company press release. “We will also expand our product lines to include both lower and upper extremity fairings and accessories.”
The funding comes 6 weeks after the launch of company’s direct-to-consumer e-commerce website. UNYQ was established in May and specializes in 3-D printing and handcrafting custom, high fashion fairings and accessories that embellish and restore body symmetry.
