Essentially Women hosted their annual conference and trade show, Focus on the Future, in Reno, Nev., from March 16 to 18 with courses approved for American Board for Certification and Board of Certification/Accreditation continuing education credits.
A wide range of topics involving women’s health care and marketing were presented. Souzan El-Eid, MD, FACS, talked about breast cancer screening, imaging diagnostics and clinical signs, as well as new developments that compared conservative management vs. prophylactic mastectomies for high risk women.
Colleen Harryman of Noridian Healthcare Solutions and Zita Upchurch from CGS Administrators LLC, presented a session focused on billing Medicare for external breast prostheses, which provided attendees with documentation case studies for review, as well as in-depth policy review. Jennifer Baker also demonstrated how to build lasting relationships with customers through engagement marketing. The workshop covered best practices for email marketing, plus tips on turning social media sites into powerful business tools.
Exhibits covered many different product categories, including post-breast surgery, compression, lingerie, accreditation, and billing outsourcing.
