Wright & Filippis has added three new members to the company’s leadership team.
Robert H. Barrow, an experienced health care executive who most recently served as chief executive officer of Doctors Hospital of Michigan, has been named vice president of operations. He also worked on key strategic initiatives for Henry Ford Health Systems, FlexDex Surgical and Detroit Medical Center.
Paul M. Turek has been named director of information technology. Turek has 20 years of IT leadership experience, and previously worked as the network and infrastructure manager for Bosselman Inc. He also has held IT leadership positions for SFC Graphics and Air Ride Inc.
Mark W. Burns has been named vice president of sales. For the last 3 years, Burns served as Midwest district manager for Fidia USA and has held similar sales leadership positions for Pfizer and Eisai.
In addition to the new hires, Steve Filippis, formerly vice president of facility operations, has been named executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions.
According to a press release, the additions reflect the company’s commitment to an increased pace of growth, improved efficiency and more effective use of technology going forward.
“We see a significant amount of new and emerging opportunities in the marketplace and believe it is time to strengthen our leadership team. While change is going to be the one constant in health care for the foreseeable future, we believe these individuals will put us in a position of advantage,” Anthony Filippis, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Wright & Filippis, stated in the release. “In many ways, this move is the continuation of recent significant investments we have made during the past year in new technology and processes. We are looking forward to sharpening our focus and building momentum for the rest of 2014 and beyond.”
