AOPA calls for grant proposals

The American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) announced a request for pilot grant proposals in eight potential areas of orthotic and prosthetic research, including an open topic.

The association is seeking proposals for one-time grants in amounts up to $15,000 for 1 year. AOPA is interested in funding original pilot research that will lead to larger trials that may qualify for government or other research funding support. Areas for submission include microprocessor knee, validity of energy storing feet, TLSO/LSO, socket interface, vacuum-assisted socket suspension systems, AFO/KAFO, L0631 bracing and open topics.

AOPA and the Center for Orthotic and Prosthetic Learning will give preference to grants that address evidence-based clinical application in orthotics and prosthetics.

The deadline for submissions is April 30. Inquiries should be sent to Lauren Anderson at LAnderson@aopanet.org or (571) 431-0843. More information, including eligibility requirements and application instructions, can be found here.
