Richard Pettingill, former president and chief executive officer of Allina Hospitals and Clinics, has joined the Hanger Inc. board of directors.
“Dick [Richard] is a proven leader in the health care industry with great success in growing revenue and adapting to the changing health care landscape,” Hanger president and chief executive officer Vinit Asar stated in a press release.
Pettingill currently serves on the boards of directors of Accuracy Incorporated and Tenet Healthcare Corporation, and qualifies as an independent director under applicable New York Stock Exchange listing standards.
Prior to his 7-year term at Allina Hospitals and Clinics, Pettingill served as executive vice president and chief executive officer of Kaiser Foundation Health Plans and Hospitals, and president and chief executive officer of Camino Healthcare.
Pettingill received a master’s degree in health care administration from San Jose State University and served as a 2010 Fellow in the Advanced Leadership Initiative program at Harvard University.
“Dick brings decades of experience in corporate governance, operations and business development, as well as an astute understanding of the customer and provider perspectives. He will be a valuable addition to Hanger’s board of directors,” Asar said.
