In its annual “Best of What’s New” issue, Popular Science has named the Versa Foot as one of the top inventions of the year. Designed for extreme sports, the Versa Foot has an adjustable air-compression shock absorber and a 28° range of motion, which allows wearers to stand on their toes or to squat with heels planted.
The Versa Foot shares the category of “Best of What’s New in Health” with nine other new products.
“I have been a fan of Popular Science for as long as I can remember, so when they showed interest in one of my designs I was excited. Then to be in this issue is amazing,” Mike Schultz, head of Biodapt, told O&P Business News. “I didn’t think [the Versa Foot] would get so much attention. I originally designed it for racing snowmobiles and quickly found out it works phenomenal for a handful of other sports and activities. It is a simple design, but the unique part about the foot is the versatility it has with all the different adjustments and optional sole plates.”
