OPGA/POINT announced 34 members as recipients of the 2013 Freedom Award for their compassionate service and dedication to veterans and active-duty soldiers.
The Freedom Award recognizes those who have provided orthotic and prosthetic fitting or rehabilitation for soldiers wounded in action. “Every day more and more of our brave men and women in the armed forces suffer amputations resulting from wounds and injuries received in combat,” Dennis Clark, president of OPGA/POINT, stated in a press release. “Thanks to the contribution of these independent providers, these amputees are able to return to active lives, and in some cases, active duty. OPGA/POINT is proud to recognize our members for their service and commitment to America’s veterans.”
