Freedom Innovations, Irvine, Calif., announced it has expanded and reorganized its senior management team, effective Nov. 1.
Joe W. Martin has been appointed to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer. He most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of BPH Therapy for American Medical Systems Inc. and was previously president of the diabetes division of Bayer Healthcare.
Maynard Carkhuff, currently Freedom’s president and chief executive officer, will assume the role of chairman and CEO.
"We are especially pleased that Joe will be joining our leadership team to oversee all operations," Carkhuff said in a company release. "Joe brings extensive experience in product development, manufacturing and supply chain processes, business development, and commercial execution strategies. His broad base of international experience and exceptional operational and process development skills will be tremendous assets for us.”
Rob Cripe, senior vice president of global marketing, has been promoted to executive vice president of North American commercial operations and global marketing. Cripe will assume additional responsibilities as head of Freedom’s North American sales efforts, and will continue to lead Freedom’s worldwide marketing organization. Mark Testerman, vice president, domestic sales, will focus on key account development and US sales force management. Claudia Gehrmann, general manager for Europe, will continue in her role overseeing European sales and operations.
These additions and changes are expected to support the company’s continued growth, and will enhance Freedom’s ability to achieve its significant product development and expansion plans.
