Eighty prosthetic hands were assembled by Johnson Controls employees in Shanghai, China, during the company’s recent annual Vision Week celebration for landmine victims in developing countries.
According to a company press release, the donation was made through the Helping Hands program as part of the Ellen Meadows Prosthetic Hand Foundation. Employees in the Power Solutions division worked together to assemble the LN-4 Hand, which will be shipped to the foundation to be inspected before being sent to recipients around the world.
“These prosthetic hands change the lives of people in need. Our donation embodies Johnson controls’ commitment to the communities in which we live and work,” Kenneth Yeng, vice president and general manager of Johnson Controls Power Solutions China, stated in the release. “I’m proud of our company and employees for coming together to support this program.”
