Mike Schultz took home the gold medal at the X Games on Saturday, August 3 in Los Angeles in the Adaptive Moto X race, which returned to the Summer X Games after a 2-year hiatus.
With a finish time of 5:22.409, Schultz edged out Todd Thompson to secure the victory. Thompson finished in 5:24.870 and was trailed by Chris Ridgway in third, who finished in 5:46.912.
Schultz is a transfemoral unilateral amputee resulting from a snocross accident in 2008. This is Schultz’s fifth X Games medal. He previously earned two medals in Adaptive Super-X at the Summer X Games in 2009 and 2010, as well as two gold medals in Adaptive snocross at the Winter X Games in 2010 and 2011.
