Aqualeg, Inc. announced the opening of its first US office in Rock Hill, S.C. The company manufactures prosthetic covers that can be used in water.
Working with manufacturers of appropriate feet and components, the company coordinates with prosthetists to fit amputees with a single prosthesis that is suitable for all activities, according to a press release. The Aqualeg cover is cosmetically appealing and durable, and retains its shape without the need for foam underneath.
Michael Burton has been named general manager and brings to the company more than 30 years of O&P industry experience.
“We look forward to helping amputees in the US enjoy a wide range of activities while using a single prosthesis,” Frederic Rauch, Aqualeg president, stated in the release. The company will be showing the product for the first time in the US during the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association World Congress in Orlando, Fla., Sept. 18-21.
