The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago welcomed four new residents for 2013-2014, according to a news release.
Alicia Foster received a master’s of science in biokinesiology from the University of Southern California. She received her orthotic and prosthetic certificates from California State University Dominguez Hills and has previously worked with the Veterans Affairs Long Beach office in California and Summit Prosthetics in Salem, Ore. She performed her orthotic residency at the University of Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Center and will join RIC as a resident prosthetist.
Shandy Rivera received a master’s degree in prosthetics and orthotics at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also served as a graduate assistant. She held previous internships at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minn., and in Pittsburgh at De La Torre Orthotics and Prosthetics, Union Orthotics and Prosthetics and Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics. She will serve as a resident orthotist with RIC.
Nathanial Tulloch received a master’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics from the University of Washington and will serve as a resident orthotist at RIC. He gained previous O&P experience from the University of Washington-Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics in San Diego, Cornerstone Prosthetics and Orthotics in Edmonds, Wash. and Douglass Certified Orthotics and Prosthetics in Seattle.
Adam Zastrow, who will join the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) as a resident prosthetist,completed the orthotic and prosthetic practitioner programs at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center and has previously worked at Scheck and Siress in Illinois, RIC and Advanced Orthotic and Solutions in Hickory Hills, Ill. Zastrow recently traveled to Guatemala as a volunteer with the Range of Motion Project.
