The Amputee Coalition announced that it has elected Ron Drach, a wounded Vietnam War veteran, to its board of directors, according to a press release.
Drach sustained a leg amputation as a result of combat wounds and earned a Purple Heart. After retiring from the Army, Drach held positions with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Disabled American Veterans and the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service.
Most recently, Drach served as the director of government and legislative affairs for the Department of Labor. He has also served on several committees established by the VA and Labor Department and is immediate past president of the Wounded Warrior Project board of directors.
“We are honored to welcome Ron to the Amputee Coalition. He brings a wealth of personal and professional experience both as a combat wounded retired Army infantryman and as one of the nation’s foremost authorities on employment issues affecting persons living with disabilities,” Kendra Calhoun, president and chief executive officer of the Amputee Coalition, stated in the release. “We look forward to his input as we expand our programs in the areas of employment and community reintegration.”
