Thirty-five members of Congress agreed to sign a letter regarding CMS audit procedures presented to them by members of the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA).
Individuals who attended the AOPA Forum from March 11-12 started the effort to persuade congressional representatives to sign on to a letter from Rep. Tammy Duckworth and Rep. Brett Guthrie to Kathleen Sebelius, US Health and Human Services Secretary, expressing concerns about CMS audit procedures.
AOPA membership contacted 380 congressional offices for support. Nineteen Democrats and 16 Republicans joined the bipartisan sign-on effort.
