Katy Sullivan, a bilateral transfemoral amputee and Hanger Clinic patient, recently gave a presentation during a TEDx event in Hollywood, Calif., according to a press release.
TEDx is a community-level version of the popular TED talk series. During the talk, Sullivan, a congenital amputee, discussed her experiences growing up as a bilateral amputee and her decision to pursue acting and eventually athletics.
Most recently, Sullivan represented the United States at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, where she set the new American record and a personal best in the women’s T42 100m dash.
Sullivan has also appeared on several television shows, including My Name is Earl, I’m with Stupid and Nip/Tuck.
