The Benevolent Technologies for Health (BETH) project was awarded the $10,000 Daniel M. Lewin Prize in the Accelerate phase of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) $100K Entrepreneurship Contest, according to a press release.
The BETH project developed a low-cost, adjustable prosthetic socket that can be mass produced while remaining custom-made. The team members include RaminAbrishamian, Asa Hammond, Jason Hill and Elizabeth Tsai.
Along with the cash prize, the BETH project is also automatically entered into the final stage of the MIT contest, Launch, which awards a $100,000 grand prize for the best business plan presented. The winner will be announced at the final event on May 15.
