The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc., (ABC) bestowed Donald D. Virostek, CPO, with the William D. Beiswenger Volunteer Award for his volunteer work supporting ABC’s mission and for embodying the spirit of the award.
Beginning his service to ABC in 1996 as an examiner for the clinical patient management examinations, Virostek has served on the prosthetic exam development committee, the clinical patient management administration committee and the professional credentialing committee. In 2006, he was chosen to serve on the ABC board of directors and has served for 7 years, including a term as president in 2012.
“I’m extremely honored to be selected for this award. Knowing the quality and dedication of the previous recipients, I feel blessed to be considered in their company. I am fortunate to have the support of my wife and family which allow me to volunteer my time to ABC. My years of volunteering have brought about many new friendships, for which I will be forever grateful,” Virostek stated in a press release.
