LAS VEGAS — Hanger kicked off the official start of its Education Fair and National Meeting by introducing the patients who represented Hanger at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
Hanger honored nine patients who competed in the Paralympics. They included Katy Sullivan, David Prince, Jeremy Campbell, Kari Miller and Bradley Johnson, who represented the United States. Sullivan, Prince and Campbell participated in track and field events; Miller was on the sitting volleyball team and Johnson was on the sailing team. Laurens Molina represented Costa Rica in the men’s marathon, and Maya Nakanishi participated in track and field events for Japan.
Blake Leeper, track and field, and Lora Webster, sitting volleyball, also represented Hanger and the US at the Paralympics but could not attend the meeting.
Also honored during the opening ceremonies was Mark Ormrod, a former Royal Marine who lost both legs and his right arm while serving in Afghanistan in 2007. Ormrod was a torchbearer at the 2012 Olympics in London.
