The Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation announced the addition of Robert M. Sehnert to the board of directors, according to a press release.
Vice president and general manager of Wabtec Global Services, a division of Wabtec Corporation based in Pittsburgh, Pa., Sehnert graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1991. He transitioned to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) community in 1995 and served as a detachment officer in charge at Mobile Unit 11 in Whidbey Island from 1995 to 1997 before becoming a platoon commander for the VSW Mine Countermeasures Unit in Coronado, Calif, from 1998 to 2000.
“I could not be more delighted to welcome Ron to this distinguished board of directors,” Ken Falke, chairman and founder of the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation, said. “Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) remain the number one threat to our EOD forces on today’s battlefields and the situation does not seem to be getting better. Our EOD forces place their lives on the line every day to make these IEDs safe and unfortunately we continue to have severe physical injuries in the community. Rob will be a tremendous champion of our mission to increase our community outreach and to expand our endowment so we can continue to support both physically and mentally wounded EOD warriors and their families, long after the war ends.”
