The Amputee Coalition has added Troy Turner, David Dunville and Stella Sieber to its Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee, according to a press release.
Serving for a 3-year term, Sieber and Dunville will serve as consumer representatives and Turner will serve as a military and prosthetics research representative for the Amputee Coalition Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee (SciMAC).
Dunville is an Amputee Coalition-certified peer visitor, an amputee support coordinator for H-Care, Hurley/Benson’s Medical Equipment, Inc. and president of the Amputee Firefighters Association.
Another Amputee Coalition-certified peer visitor trainer, Sieber is also a trainer for Promoting Amputee Life and support group leader for the Triangle Amputee Support Devils in Durham, N.C.
Turner is the researcher portfolio manager for Advanced Prosthetics and Neural Engineering at the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center for the US Army Medical Research and Material Command.
“I am delighted that Troy, David and Stella are joining the SciMAC team. The depth of their backgrounds and expertise will prove invaluable to the Coalition,” Kendra Calhoun, president and chief executive officer of the Amputee Coalition, said in the release.
