Oscar Pistorius finished the 400-meter semifinals with a time of 46.54, according to the Associated Press. Although he didn’t advance to the finals, Pistorius nevertheless achieved victory in his quest to compete in the Olympics.
Pistorius still has the 1,600-meter relays to look forward to on Thursday before turning his focus on racing in the 100, 200 and 400 meters at the 2012 Paralympics. Afterward, he will begin training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
“In 2016, I’ll probably be at my peak in Rio. I’m looking forward to that more than anything,” Pistorius said in the report.
